ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, appears to be launching a new music licensing platform called EasyOde that could shake up the industry. According to US Copyright Office filings, ByteDance has secured trademarks for EasyOde, covering music licensing services and a mobile app.

EasyOde is described as a "one-stop rights-cleared music platform" with a library of 60,000 pre-cleared tracks. The platform offers features like music recommendations and the ability to analyze reference tracks.

The existence of EasyOde is notable given ByteDance's significant technological capabilities, including research into AI-generated music conducted by its Speech, Audio & Music Intelligence (SAMI) team. EasyOde is reportedly owned by BytePlus, a new ByteDance division focused on selling its AI technology.

While details on EasyOde's launch and ByteDance's plans for the platform are still limited, its potential to disrupt the competitive music licensing market is clear.
